The course is eligible to those who have turned 16 and have recently achieved the Master Cadet Classification badge, completing all of the Cadet Syllabus Training Examinations within their career so far.

The aim of the course is to give the skills, knowledge and confidence to enable to assist in the delivery of future Cadet syllabus training – with successful completion of the course and a further assessment but the Wing Staff Officer an Instructor Cadet lanyard can be awarded.

The course covers instructor qualities, planning and preperation of lessons, the setting objectives and conducting assessments.

Cadet Sergeant Grace McDonald gave a 5 minute lesson on plate tectonics and must now prepare a lesson plan and deliver a 10 minute lesson which will be observed and assessed by her Wing Staff Officer.

Completion of the examinations means that she will soon receive a BTEC in Aviation Studies, adding more qualifications to her CV and hopefully aiding to her application within the RAF.
