A team of Staff and Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets travelled to Bingham’s  Carnarvon School to help a local Cub Scout group gain their Air Activities Badge.
The evening was part one, of two, training nights to gain the required skills and knowledge and be awarded the Cub Air Activities Badge. The nineteen Cub’s were given a presentation on the history of flight and they looked at how aircraft fly, along with learning the names of aircraft control surfaces and what they do. The Cubs then ended the night with Cadet FS McDonald teaching basic drill.
Part two will see the Cubs and leaders attending 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron for a night of further training, which will include building and flying paper aeroplanes, flying model aircraft along with a flight in our real glider cockpit simulator.Scouts
