Three members of Staff from 209 (West Bridgford) Royal Air Force Air Cadets spent their Sunday at 1936 Newton Squadron HQ completing the Introduction to DofE Course.
The Introduction to DofE Course covers the below elements of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The mission and guiding principles of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Understanding DofE levels, sections, timescales and the development of DofE programmes
The DofE structure and how it supports
The key roles of DofE Leaders
How to ensure that the programme is based around the needs of the young people
Information on the range of resources available
Good practice in the delivery of DofE programmes.
The Introduction to the DofE training course provides the information needed to be a DofE Leader and run DofE programme.
The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is a DofE Licensed organisation and offers the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for Cadets over the age of 14.
With four members of Staff on the unit that have now completed this course, 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron should hopefully storm the year with plenty of Cadets achieving their DofE Award.
